Well on Saturday afternoon around 2pm Melissa and Amaya were discharged from the hospital. Her 1st car ride was very smooth and she went right to sleep. Hopefully that is a good sign considering we will be traveling back and forth to Wichita to visit family. Amaya has some funny hours, she is usually dead asleep and hard to wake up from 11am to 5pm. She wakes up occasionally to get her diaper change and to eat at "mommies"; she usually orders the special! Her prime hours are 11pm to 6am. During that time she is wide awake and curious about her surroundings. I must admit that since she has been home neither one of us have wanted to put her down. I know this goes against cardinal rule #1 but just look at her!
Now I thought that I was a night owl usually checking out around 1am but this girl has got me beat by at least 4 hours. Now that she is eating regularly I have gotten to spend more "peaceful" time with her. This morning she slept on my chest for about 2 hours that was special. I think all dads can relate when I say that for at least the 1st month your child really doesnt want to be in your arms that is unless you have a bottle! This whole experience is phenomenal and I wouldnt trade it for the world. My advice to anyone is. "if you want kids, have kids"! They will teach you about patience, beauty, and SLEEP DEPRIVATION!

Here is Amaya after this mornings breakfast. I think she ordered the special.
That is the face of one content little girl! Momma must have the good stuff!
