Amaya's Arrival

On Wednesday, October 17th 2007 at 12:53pm Amaya Lynn Stephens made her grand entrance into this world. She was born at Mansfield Methodist to the parents of Shawn and Melissa Stephens. At the time of her birth she wieghed 8 lbs. 2.1 oz. The 1st words that Dr. Chancellor (O.B.) said when she pulled Amaya out was "look at all that hair"!

Since then she has been eating and sleeping every chance she can get. All of the nurses on the floor are commenting on how cute she is and how amazing it is that she has that head full of hair. I (Shawn) never knew what I would feel like when I 1st saw her but to describe it in words I would say "WOW"! When her mom 1st saw her all she could do is cry. I must admit that your world changes when you finally bring a life into this world your world changes. I thank GOD for the entrustment of the responsibility to help and raise a young woman.

This is Melissa on the last day of being pregnant. She was definitely nervous and excited.

Here I am in my natural state of clowning!

Here Amaya is when she was getting her 1st burp.
